“Discidia”, parola latina, che letteralmente significa “squarcio di luce”.
Questo termine indica una lacerazione, una spaccatura nelle vite dei personaggi dei film a cui mi sono ispirata. Il progetto si propone di ricostruire, tramite immagini, complesse situazioni esistenziali ispirate ad alcuni film horror. Vi è illustrato il dissidio interiore dei personaggi visti da una prospettiva che ne osserva la storia, dando rilevanza al particolare.
Da un approfondito studio del genere Horror ho acquisito quegli elementi che mi sono stati utili per rappresentare la natura e le ombre dell’animo umano. Come la parola "Discidia" suggerisce, la luce che ho utilizzato vuole ricordare la luce fredda e immobile che si manifesta dopo uno squarcio nel cielo, per la drammaticità che trasmette. L’uso della staged photography mi ha consentito di lasciare ampio spazio alla mia fantasia, nella riproduzione delle immagini che avevo ben chiare in mente.

This term indicates a laceration, a rift in the lives of the characters of the movies that inspired me. The project aims to reconstruct, through images, complex existential situations inspired by some horror movies. There is illustrated the internal conflict of the characters from a perspective that observes their history, giving relevance to the particular.
From an in-depth study of the Horror genre, I acquired those elements that were useful to me to represent nature and the dark side of the human soul. As the word "Discidia" suggests, the light I used is meant to remind us of the cold and motionless light that manifests itself after a gash in the sky, for the drama it transmits. The use of photography on stage allowed me to leave ample room for my imagination, in the reproduction of the images that I had very clear in mind.
